Bishop Francis Wale Oke
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth forever. O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth forever. To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth forever. To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth forever. To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth forever.

Psalm 136:1-6

Today is a day of great joy. We give all the glory to God Almighty our Father, who has done all things well.

Like a dream, WOCOME commenced its academic operations in February 2020. There was interruption because of COVID-19. It resumed fully by August, 2020. And here we are now, graduating the first set. To God alone be all the glory.

To the graduands and their relatives, congratulations. You have endured one full session of academic rigour, serious spiritual discipline and preparation to take on the world for Christ. We are aware of the intensity of your training. It was designed to be so. Those who will win this world for Christ must not only be mentally prepared, they must be spiritually fit. And WOCOME has worked hard to give you both. Again, congratulations.

Now, your career in Mission is starting, either in the field of existing Mission, or to break new grounds ,or at WOCOME to prepare future generations of missionaries. We admonish you to serve the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your might. If you do, not only will He reward you, He will surely honor you. Christ our Lord has said.

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

John 12:26

So, welcome to Mission, your platform for eternal honour.

As you enter into the service of Christ our Master, you should not forget that your learning, education, and development must continue. In the school of Christ’s discipleship, nobody ever graduates. Rather, as we continue to follow Him, He makes us more effective, more fruitful, day by day, taking us from glory to glory.

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.

Matthew 4:19-20

You should therefore continue to develop yourself for greater effectiveness, whether informally, through sundry personal development and edification, or formally via the way of further studies. May you go from glory to glory.

We must celebrate those who have made today a reality. First is our Daddy, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, and Mama, Pastor Mrs. Folu Adeboye, who graciously released the Rector of WOCOME, Pastor Dr. Shola Ajagbe, to be the pioneer Rector of this great institution. Next is Pastor E.A. Odeyemi, the Assistant General Overseer, Education and Training in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, who midwived the release of Pastor Shola Ajagbe by Daddy Adeboye. Then we must thank Pastor Joel Oke, the Provost of the Redeemed College of Missions, Ede, under whom Pastor Ajagbe was serving as Deputy Provost, for putting the whole arrangement together, and for giving solid support to Pastor Ajagbe, and WOCOME, since we started.

Last, but certainly not the least, I celebrate our own mummy, Rev. Dr. O’Tokunbo Oke and all members of the Governing Council of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries in embracing the WOCOME vision, giving it full support. We shall reap the fruit of our labour in Jesus mighty name.

To all my graduating students, do not forget, wherever you find yourself, you must continuously be an effective minister of Christ, who is theologically sound, winning souls for Christ continuously, and planting vibrant churches for Christ, all over the world.

We commend you to the grace of God.

And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God. And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
